Hi Dear Friend,

Greetings in Jesus name!

This is the continuation of the Discipleship . . . . .  just in case if you have not read part 1, here is the link please click here. http://wp.me/p4fXYd-9q

We are living in the days where discipleship is almost forgotten or we don’t have time for it. We are so much caught with church picnics, church programs, solving issues in the church. . . . . though doing all is good but discipleship is far better and important thing the church needs today. We think we are doing some discipleship thing through all these but I will leave it to you, you judge yourself if you are doing or no. if yes praise God, if not let’s start right away.

When God called me, He called me to go into the entire world and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Few years later He added discipleship to it and told me start the training program called “School of Disciples” wherever I go. That’s the reason I am very passionate and excited to write this, it’s not just a blog post but I am writing my heart out. If you are blessed and challenged by this post it’s worth writing.

Who is a disciple?

The word disciple means consists of 3 things, what you believe? Whom you follow? What are you leaving behind (Legacy)?

What and whom you believe and follow is what you give to the world.

The Disciple who was a student once will be a teacher one day, the one who teaches is a leader. What people learn from you is who you really are. If you want to know yourself, look at the people who follow you!

If you are a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, you will live like Him and so will your followers! If you are not, they will not!

Who will make disciples?

Jesus said to His disciples, Go and make disciples. Disciples are the one who followed Jesus, believed Jesus, saw the miracles Jesus did, learn from Him and they have encountered the love and forgiveness of God and the work of the Holy Spirit in their life, since they were loved and forgiven by God they had power to love others and tell others about the love of God.

If you call yourself as the disciple of Jesus Christ today, you would do exactly what they did.

Disciples will go and make disciples, if you are not a disciple you will not make disciple. It’s time to check yourself!

Whom do you disciple?

Jesus said, Go and preach the good news of the kingdom of God in all the earth.

Discipleship starts with evangelism! The one who believes your message when you minister to them, they are the one whom you should disciple.

If they have not believed your message at first place, you will not see any fruit in your labor because whatever you are sowing into that person’s life has no roots of believing; that’s the reason we don’t see believers grow into disciple.

It’s important that before you start disciplining someone make them the believer of the word of God, though it’s the work of the Holy Spirit to make them believe, your responsibility is to teach God’s word properly and answer all the question they has.

How to make disciple?

Jesus was the best teacher who lived on the earth and we as His disciples has to walk in His footsteps.

Before you start discipleship look at the life of Jesus, He spent all night in prayer before He choose disciples, He was a man of prayer! Be a man of God and a man of prayer!

Jesus had time for His disciples to talk to them, understand them, answer their question, praying for them and serve God with them! Jesus taught His disciples in the way they understand.

Now you have to tolerate the people whom you are making disciple however they are and be patient with them because you were like them once!

How long to make disciples?

Discipleship is not one day thing or one complete course you do and once it’s over, you claim them as disciple. Jesus shared His heart to them and prayed for them till He was arrested. It’s a life time process.

You train them till they are in a place to train others.

Be a father to them, whenever they are in need of you make sure that you are there to help them in every means possible to see them grow to be a better disciple.

Evangelism Vs Discipleship

Though I passionately believe in both but let’s look which works faster. Imagine in 1 year you get 1000 souls through evangelism and through discipleship 1 soul per year. Which one do you think will be more effective? Let’s see.

Wow this is amazing; in 33 1/2 years the whole world will be saved!

Jesus is coming soon! Let’s go and make disciple.

I want to share my heart, when God called me for School of Disciples, I didn’t knew why I was doing I asked Him; why am I doing this? He told me by doing this I am making a way for Him to come back!!

Go and make a way for the King of kings to return!

Please share it with your Pastors, friends, leaders and church members. It’s just 33 1/2 years. Start today!

God Bless you,

Jeevan n Leena
