Hi Dear Friend,

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I take it as a privilege to share with you, things that God has put in my spirit through the Holy Spirit.

Today I want to share with you from the life of Judas Iscariot, who was one of the disciples of Jesus Christ, who ended up to be cursed and miss the greatest call and purpose of God in his life.

As we are learning from the life of Judas I pray that God will speak to us, let his life be a warning to us so that we don’t make the mistakes he made but learn from his mistakes to be a better disciple who will make a difference in the world for Jesus’ name glory!

Before Jesus chose Judas to be His disciple, Judas was a thief John 12:6; imagine a life of thief, everyone would hate him or never make friendship with him but He followed Jesus from a distance because there were so many followed Him, he too was one among the multitudes . When Jesus was choosing the twelve he was also present there in the crowd. Jesus called him. Luke 6:16. he would have felt loved and accepted and followed Jesus wherever He went.

The bible says, Jesus did not come to call the righteous but for sinners Mark 2:17; He was known to be the friends of sinners Luke 7:34. When God choose you and me, we too were not righteous but He chooses us to be His disciple and share in His ministry.

Though Judas was called by Jesus, following Jesus everywhere but never understood Him or His mission. Understanding our Master is very important thing in our life, if you don’t understand Him, you cannot walk in His footsteps. You will be deviated and end up in wrong place the way Judas did.

When the woman was anointing Jesus’ feet with the perfume, he thought it’s a waste, because he didn’t understand that Jesus was anointed for His burial. Though the other didn’t understand they shut their mouths tight.

Sometimes, if you don’t understand what God is doing; the best thing you can do is sit back silent and see, or ask Him, He will explain to you. But never judge what God is doing. Your mind is too small to understand God or the things of God.

Judas got deceived and deviated. Every time you don’t understand God or His things, it becomes so difficult to follow Him, the moment you stop following God wholeheartedly that’s when you give space for everything that comes your way.

When you take your eyes of Jesus, you will end up looking at the world and its pleasures; it’s so tempting, it draws you close to itself then you need God’s help to say no to it. The enemy is throwing everything possible in our way so that we take our eyes of Jesus but in every situation and circumstance let’s say “I will lift up my hills to God the maker of heaven and earth”. Ps 121:1-2

Judas was deceived so badly that he went on to betray Jesus, by selling him for 30 silver coins Matt 27:3; this is the final condition who says no to following Jesus, trying to understand Jesus, who are enticed and say no to Jesus.

Judas betrayal began when he stopped following Jesus with all his heart, in his heart; it came out when he was full of the things of the world and less of God, he had power to say No to Jesus and Yes to world.

After he betrayed Jesus, he was tormented by the evil spirit so bad that he went out and hung himself. Matt 27:5. What if he chooses to come back to Jesus and falls on his feet and repent, I think God would have given him another chance. But he chooses to go out from God. When you go away from God, you will be destroyed instead run to Him and you will find love and acceptance from God.

As you are reading this post, I request you to love and follow Jesus with all your heart. Know Him! How sad it is not to know the God whom you worship, if you don’t understand Him and His ways sit at His feet, you will learn gradually. When temptations come or when you fall into temptation, first thing you do is run to Jesus, Hold His feet tightly.

Our God is loving God, He is merciful, He is gracious, He will forgive if you repent, He will give you another chance and help you overcome your weakness with His strength. Have a blessed day ahead.

God bless you,

With Love,

Jeevan n Leena
