Hello dear friend,

Money is a blessing from God. To spend the money God gave you, you need His wisdom. We should be a good steward of what God has entrusted us with.

money

I come across lot of people who earn good money but by the end of the month, they are left with nothing, therefore they borrow money from others or use their credit cards…..

Borrowing money and using credit cards is not wrong, but it’s not the sign of abundant life. Jesus said, I have come to give you life and that too more abundantly. John 10:10.

We are called to live an abundant life. We don’t serve money, money is there to serve us; we shouldn’t be lovers of money but good care takers of the money God gave us.

Every single rupee we have is the gift from God, though you might have earned it, it is God who is helping you to earn. We should be trust worthy. If we are faithful to God in little, He will entrust us with much. God won’t give you something which you can’t handle, He gives us according to our ability.

Today I would like to help you to handle your finances wisely;

  1. Give tithes to God:

What is a tithe? A tithe is giving 10% of all your income to God.

Where to tithe? The Bible says, bring to the church where you go Mal 3:10.

Some people are committed to few churches and ministries, but it’s you responsibility to give at least 10% of your income to the church you attend.

If you go to a restaurant, you will have food to the full, then you don’t give to the restaurant that you used to go or had once, but will pay where you eat. The church that is taking care of you and feeding you every day that’s where you give.

Can you give more? Tithe was followed in the Old Testament but in the New Testament you give all to God. For example, When Jesus called His disciples, they left everything and followed Jesus Luke 5:11.

How should you give? We have said that we have to give 10% of our income to God, but you can give more than that unto 100%, you shouldn’t give with complaints and grumbling but with joy, don’t give with pressure but with love, whatever you have decided in your heart. God loves the cheerful givers.

How often you should give? You can bring your tithes monthly or weekly or daily. Whenever and however you can.

Giving (not just your money but everything you are and everything you have) should be the part of your walk with God. The love you have for God is displayed in giving.

God loved and gave His one and Only Son for us John 3:16.

Note: If God gives you something and knows that you will give it back to Him, there is nothing that God won’t give you.

  1. Pay all your bills:

After giving to God, next thing you do is pay your bills. (House/PG rent, phone bills, electric bills, EMI……) whatever is need to pay every month pay it.

If you don’t pay, next month it will be too much burden to pay last months and this months, probably sometimes you might also pay with interests (pay with penalty)

  1. Buy things that you need for the month:

After giving to God and paying all the bills, buy things that you need for the house like groceries. If you are staying in PG, you might not need to buy them, but you can send some money to your family back home, your support can make a big difference.

If you don’t support your family who else will. Some of your families might not need your support but still send them, your parents will feel good.

  1. Put some into saving:

After following the above 3 steps, next thing you do is put some money on saving, doesn’t matter how much. Be consistent!

When you are in desperate need of money, you no need to go around borrowing people for money, you can go to your savings. Your saving will play a very vital role.

  1. Use the left over wisely:

After saving, you have some money left with you, use it with wisdom. I am not saying to be stingy, God gave it to you to enjoy but not for unnecessary things.

You know how much you are left with and with that left over money, you can use it on your travel, buying gifts for family, friend, and church and take your loved ones out for a lunch/dinner (whenever needed)

I have written 5 ways to handle your finances, you can follow this from today itself. As you are reading this post I pray that God will give you grace and wisdom to handle your finances wisely and may God use you for His glory.

With much love,

Jeevan & Leena
