Hello dear friend, Greetings to you in Jesus name.

On 9th August 2016, my dad at the age of 73 left us and gone to be with the Lord forever. He had a massive heart stroke around 12:20am and passed away in the hands of my mom and younger brother.

We miss our dad around us as long as we live here on earth, but I am very happy that he is in a better place, with God, free from all worries and problems.

My dad’s life was indeed a great blessing to me, he has always been for me whenever I was in need of him, and though he wasn’t a perfect man but was a good father to his children, good husband to his wife, and a great man of God to his church.

I have personally learnt lot of things from his life, I felt like sharing them to you too;

  1. He was committed to the work of God:

As soon as he got retired from the work he was doing, he felt the call of God on his life to serve God. Without any delay, he stepped out into ministry. He never missed or said no to any meeting where he was invited.

Though he was sick and weak, he never missed attending the church and taking care of his congregation.

  1. He was a man of prayer:

Every day he would start and finish his day with prayer . Whenever he was free, he would often sit with his bible and be preparing sermons for his next meeting.

We would sit and pray, walk and pray, bow down and pray, but my dad always prayed on his knees. Even the evening before he passed away he was on his knees praying, he had the grace of God to be on knees for hours, even few seconds before his death, he lifted his hands and said, ‘Jesus Jesus’ and died.

  1. He was a man of love:

I wonder how a normal human like him can love someone unconditionally, before his marriage he loved his father and mother and obeyed them without complaining, my father was the only son and eldest in the family, he had 6 sisters he took care of all of them and got all of them married, after marriage he loved my mother very deeply, and after having children he loved us immensely – I can say, I have seen the love of God in him.

He lived a selfless life, through out his life he served his people!

  1. He was a man of faith:

When my life was in a mess, when I was away from God, even I couldn’t see myself knowing and following Jesus, but my dad was the first person who prophesied over my life that I will not only be saved but be a great man of God. He kept speaking over and over for years until he saw what he spoke.

Every time when situation would look hard and tough on us, he would always encourage us to pray and trust God for a breakthrough.

  1. He was a hard worker:

My dad was in Indian army, he served the nation faithfully, and he was a very hard worker. After his retirement from the army, he continued to work wherever God placed Him.

I have never seen my father idle, he was busy helping my mother in the house work, or busy with the ministry, or busy in the presence of God.

I have listed only 5 things here, but there are lot of things I have learnt from him and his life.

I pray I too will discipline my life to start and finish my day with Jesus – everyday, that I too would also love and stay deeply committed to God, family, church, ministry, and to the people and responsibilities God has given me. And also be a man of faith to see things and situation through the eyes of Jesus and faithfully work hard for the glory of God in Jesus mighty name, Amen.

If you too want to grow in those area, I want you to decide today as you are reading this post.

God bless you,

With lot of love and blessings,

Ps. Jeevan Kumar & Ps. Leena Jeevan
