Hi dear friend,
Greetings to you in Jesus name.
Today I want to remind you that we are called to live like Jesus lived when He was in this world.
One of our greatest hindrance to live like Jesus is SIN.
We inherited this sinful nature from Adam but the day we invite Jesus into our lives and make Him the Lord and Savior of our lives we no longer have sinful nature in us but Christ’s nature.
We are back to the place where Adam was before he fell in sin.
Now, the reason we commit sin is not because we are a slave to it, but we choose to.
The moment you welcome Jesus it’s no longer you who live but Jesus who lives in you and His life is holy, blameless, righteous and perfect.
Sad thing is we say Jesus is in us and He is the Lord over our life but we live the way we want.
I want to tell you today that we can live a sinless life here on earth!
Jesus told the woman who was caught in adultery to sin no more John 8:11, Jesus told to the crippled man to sin no more John 5:14. Jesus said it because He knew she can do it and today God is saying the same, sin no more.
Here are 4 things that God is calling us to do;
- Called to live righteous life:
You are not righteous because of your works, the bible says our righteousness is like filthy rags before him. Isa 64:6
Jesus said, I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repent. Luke 5:32.
Once you repent and acknowledge Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you become the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ. 2 Cor 5:21. Now as God’s righteousness you have power to do right things.
Let’s pursue righteousness!
- Called to live holy life:
Holiness is what makes our God different, superior and greater than any other so called gods and goddesses. There is no one holy.
The Bible says, God made man in His own image and likeness. Man was created without sin.
From the very beginning God desires for His children is that we be like Him. Lev 11:44, 19:2, 20:7 and 1 Pet 1:16, God is saying ‘Be holy because I am Holy’.
We have heard people say, ‘this is sinful world’ and ‘we are in flesh (sinful nature), we can’t live holy on earth’ once we go to heaven we can be holy……. All this is a lie and excuse!
God wants us to live holy life right here on earth. Jesus lived a holy life here on earth!
Let’s pursue holiness.
- Called to live perfect life:
Matt 5:48: Jesus said, you must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
We all have our weaknesses and God knows about it. Therefor God says, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in your weaknesses’.2 Cor 12:9.
Paul writes to Timothy his son in the Lord, a man of God may be perfect thoroughly furnished to every good work. 2 Tim 3:17
God wants us to be perfect in everything, for which He has given His grace and power.
Let’s pursue perfect life.
- Called to live like Jesus:
God’s ultimate purpose for us is that we might be fully transformed in the likeness of His Son, Jesus Christ.
If you want to live like Jesus you should stop living like yourself. Say no to every sinful arousal in you and say yes to God and His life in you.
Bible says, that we should put on new man (Jesus). Col 3:10
When you put Him on, the world will no more see you but the one who is on you. When Father looks down on you, you will be hidden in Him; you will carry His fragrance; you will carry His righteousness; you will be like Him in everything. To put Him (Jesus) on, you need to put off all ungodliness!
The more you spend time with Jesus, the more you will be like Him.
Pursue Jesus!
Before I conclude, I want to remind that you are called to live a righteous, holy, perfect and Christ’s life here on earth. Let nothing stop you from living this life.
