Most of us spend a lot of time in beauty parlor to look beautiful and handsome.
A girl spends a lot of time to get ready, what does she do? She cleanses, tones, moisturizes and do the eye makeup and all. She selects her matching accessories, foot wear and handbag to go out. A guy is also no less, he might not take the same amount of time the woman takes but he also invests pretty good time in getting ready. He spends most of his time in doing his hair and selecting his dress.
Yes, all this makes you look beautiful and handsome. But how long will this make-up last? For 1 hour, 2 hours, 5 hours, 10 hours, 12 hours or 24 hours. The truth is it is bound to fade and go away. And the moment all this is gone you are back to the normal look of yours.
If a girl has not done any make-up she will barely go out of the house and if her husband takes her out because of some urgent work may be a party then he has to listen to her lovely pricking words for the rest of the day like, that woman was wearing that sari, that woman was wearing that jewelry, that woman was made her hair straight and the other curly. The talk goes on and on.
What makes you beautiful?
First of all beauty comes from within. You may apply everything and look beautiful but it’s temporary. You see the actress without make-up I bet you would run away from them. The joy in your heart and the peace in your mind will make your face glow.
Bible talks about some handsome men, I wonder to which beauty saloon they would have gone to?
- Bible says that when Samuel looked at David he found him handsome. David was coming from the field grazing his father flock all day yet he was handsome.
- Samson, before his death people around him found his face like that of an angel. A guy whom people were accusing and stoning to death was handsome like an angel.
- Moses, when he was born, his mother found him fine. When he came from the Mt. Sinai, the people of Israelites could not see his face. He did not eat for 40 days and 40 nights, yet his face was shining.
They all went to the beauty parlor that is the presence of God. If you can spend time with the Lord, you face will be bright as Moses. And when people look at you they will find you beautiful and handsome like an angel.
This is a zero cost beauty parlor on earth but what it costs is your willingness to go and sit there patiently at the feet of Jesus. Sit there until his glory falls on you and you become a radiant person.
