There are so many people in the world have different views of who God is? Some say all gods are one, few others say there is only one God but he is having different names, some say this is our god and he is your god, few say there is no god at all but I want to say that there is only one God and His name is Jesus!
I am not here to tell you which religion is better than other, all I’m trying to do is to tell you How Jesus is the God!
When you think about God, what do you look for in Him?
Someone said ‘God is all what man is not’! Man has limits, man is sinner, man is not natural, and man is selfish. . . . . . . .
What are the qualities you want to see in God? I want to bring some truth about Jesus Christ and these qualities shows that He is the God.
- Jesus is the Creator:
Col 1:16: By Him(Jesus Christ) all things were created in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities all things were created by Him and for Him.
John 1:3: Through Him (Jesus Christ) all things were made, without Him nothing was made that has been made.
There are so many people in the world worship created things and forget the creator. Today man is worshiping man, man is worshiping animals, and man is worshiping the creation (sun, moon, stars, air, trees, plants. . . . . .) you too are created by God.
Since Jesus is the creator, He is worthy to be called God!!
2. Jesus is from Eternity:
So many people think that Jesus was born in 4-6 AD, yes you are right, Jesus was incarnated meaning God took the human form and came to earth.
We already came to know that Jesus is the creator, meaning He is Eternal!
Rev 1:8: I am the Alpha and Omega says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come. Jesus is saying I am the beginning and the end, everything begun with Him.
If you are good is English, you will tell there is mistake of tenses in the above verse, ‘who is (present tense) who was (past tense) and who is to come (future tense). You will tell me, it has to be past, present and future. This clearly shows that everything begun with Jesus.
Heb 13:8: Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is unchanging God. Man might change but God never changes.
God has neither Childhood nor old aged days, He is always young. He Lives
Forever and ever.
The above verses testifies that Jesus is eternal!!!
3. Jesus is Holy:
The birth of Jesus is holy; He was not born like any other child in the world.
Matt 1:18: This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with the child through the Holy Spirit.
This was foretold by the angle to Mary before she was conceived with a child,
Luke 1:34-35: How will this be? Mary asked the angel, ‘since I am a virgin’?The angel answered, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the most high will overshadow you, so the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.
The time/days (33 and half years) of Jesus on earth were a holy life. He lived in the world that was sinful but the sin of the world could not have a hold on Jesus all his days.
Heb 4:15 b: We have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet was without sin.
Every time we are tempted, we give ourselves to it and therefore end up in sin, though Jesus was tempted, He was without sin!
His life on earth was Perfect, Holy and Blameless.
2 Cor 5:21: God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.
Matt 27:4 b: . . . . For I have betrayed innocent blood.
The person, who betrayed Jesus for few silver coins, said that His blood is Innocent meaning ‘He is not a sinner’!
The above verses clearly say that Jesus is Holy!!!
4. Jesus is Powerful:
Bible has a lot to talk about the power of Jesus Christ; He performed things that only God could do, let’s look at the few of them;
Jn 2:7-9: Jesus turns water into wine.
Lk 5: 4-7: Jesus creates fish in the sea by His word.
Jn 6:19: Jesus walks on water.
Jn 6:9-13: Jesus feeds 5000 men with 5 loaves and 2 fishes.
Lk 8:22-25: Jesus calms the sea by His word.
Matt 12:15: Jesus healed them all (He healed and delivered all).
Jn 11:38-43: Jesus raised dead man.
All the above mentioned proofs about what Jesus did shows that He is very powerful! He did things that only God would do, nothing and no one is compared to Him in character and conduct.
5. Jesus is all knowing
The days he lived on earth, He lived by knowing what was happening around Him. He was not surprised the things He went through, He in His sovereignty knew what His days will be like, what He will do? Where He will be? Whom He will meet.
Jn 2:24-25: But Jesus would not entrust Himself to them, for He knew all men. He did not need man’s testimony about man, for He knew what was in a man.
Jn 1:48: Jesus said, I saw you while you were still under fig tree before Philip called you.
Before Nathanael could meet Jesus, He knew where he was.
Lk 22:21-23: Matt 26: 21, 25: The hand of him who is going to betray me is with me on table.
Jesus knew who will betray Him.
6. Jesus is present everywhere :
Matt 1:23: They will call Him (Jesus) Immanuel”–which means, “God with us.”
Matt 28:20: surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Heb 13:5: “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
The above mentioned are the verses are the promises of God, saying that He is with you always means He is everywhere, where ever you go He is there, you cannot hide from Him.
Ps 139:8: If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
7. Jesus is Alive:
One last thing that makes Jesus different from others and proves that He alone is God is that He is alive.
Mark 16:9: When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene.
Matt 27:53: After Jesus’ resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people.
John 20:27-29: He showed Himself to Thomas who doubted in resurrection.
After Jesus rose from the dead, He showed himself to His disciples and gave them many instructions then He was taken up to heaven.
All the above mentioned qualities prove that Jesus is the God! Believe it or not! But this is the truth.
Why did Jesus come ?
There are so many people have different opinion about who Jesus is and what He did on earth.
1. Lk 19:10: He came to seek and save the lost
2. Mk 10:45: He came to give His life as a ransom for many
3. Jn 10:10: He came to give life and in more abundantly
4. Jn 3:16: To give eternal life for those who believe Him
5. Matt 8:17: To take all our infirmities and diseases
6. Gal 3:13: To take all our curse and punishment on Himself
7. 2Cor 8:9: To make us rich
8. Rom 8:2: To set us free from power of sin and death
9. Rom 6:23: To give us gift(Eternal life) and die for our sin
These are some of the reason why Jesus came to earth. He did not come to establish a religion or to form a group. He is the loving, Compassionate and gracious God.
The things I shared to you is truth!
He is the only savior.
Acts 4:12: Salvation is found in no-one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.
John 14:6: Jesus said I am the way, the truth and the Life. No one goes to the Father except through me.
How to be saved?
Rom 10:9: If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
