This is from the familiar story in the Old Testament, the story of Joseph. This man has been inspiring me a lot; I have picked up few things from this guy. If you had a dream from God and you don’t see yourself on your way to reach your destiny, disturbed, confused, hopeless then this is for you.
1. Joseph was loved by his father: Joseph was the son of Jacob and his beloved wife Rachel. He was the first son of Rachel and 11th son to Jacob. Jacob loved Joseph because he was born to the woman whom He loved. Joseph was treated very differently than rest of his brothers; therefore the 10 brothers were angry with him.
2. Joseph had a dream from God: Joseph was chosen by God, God gave him a dream while he was still in his teens. He knew it was God who gave him a dream and with pure excitement he went and told his brothers, and his father thinking that they will rejoice with him but instead of rejoicing with him they began to hate him.
3. Joseph was sold: One day Jacob sent Joseph to give food to his brothers who were in field, so he went. His brothers recognized Joseph from afar and plot to kill him, one among them said “if we kill him we will not get anything but let us sell him.” So he was sold to Ishmaelite’s and they sold him to Egyptians.
4. Joseph in slavery found favor: He was in slavery in the house of Potiphar a captain of the guard and an Egyptian. He brought him from Ishmaelite’s. He found favor in the sight of God and in sight of Potiphar therefore he put Joseph in charge of his house hold.
5. Joseph was imprisoned: When Joseph was in Potiphar’s house, Potiphar’s wife forced Joseph to lay with her but he refused and ran away from her presence. Because Joseph refused, she accused Joseph that he wanted to lay with her and therefore Potiphar ordered the guard to put him in Prison.
6. Joseph was connected to God even in Prison: Joseph used his gifts and abilities to serve people even in Prison. He was like a God’s spokesmen, interpreting dreams and visions. People recognized him as a man of God.
7. God uplifted Him in due time: when God gave Joseph a dream, He was 17 years but his dream was fulfilled when he was 30 years. God prepared joseph for 13 years then made his dream come to pass. Sometime God delays because He wants you to be mature and capable and He wants you to know the value/cost of the dream He gave you.
Joseph was a dreamer, he had a dream in his teen to become a greater than all his family, because of that He was thrown into pit, sold into slavery, imprisoned. . . . . What do you think was going in his mind? What would you do if you were in his place?
Joseph was a man who feared God and did everything God wanted Him to do; though he was ill-treated he did not speak against his brothers or against God.
God gave him a dream and God fulfilled it. The God who gave you a dream has not forgotten you or the dream He gave you, though you might have forgotten it but God never forgets. If you have a dream from God then God will fulfill it. Amen.
Amen!!! brother……….
