We are taught from our school days that God is everywhere but the point is do you still believe God is there with you when you are going through tough times? Have you ever asked this question? I have asked many times, but every time I ask this God always proved that He is with me. You too might have experienced Him. In this blog we will know few things why we have failed to recognize Jesus.
We are going to learn from the life of the disciples of Jesus from John 21: 1-7. . I pray this blog will help you to know why you have failed to recognize your Savior.
1. The Disciples went away from Jesus: The disciples of Jesus were with Him for 3+ years, saw all the miracles Jesus has done despite of all this they ran away from Him when the roman soldiers caught Jesus. After Jesus was caught, crucified, died, buried they went back to the work they were doing before. When you go away from God or away from God’s will and end up your life in world you will not recognize Jesus.
2. They went back to the world: The reason we go away from God is because of hopelessness. We lose hopes in God, we say to ourselves God cannot do it for me or God is not bothered about me so you try to fix your own life. The disciples also thought the same; they lost all he hopes when Jesus their master was arrested. The moment we decide to go away from God that is the first step to backslide. Though you are going through the tough times of your life, Never ever think of going away from God, because going away from God will add more trouble than before.
3. They were discouraged: We think by going away from God will solve all our problems but the truth is you will add and multiply all troubles, doubts, fear. . . the disciples went back to fishing thinking they are good at it but that night they caught absolutely nothing! When you go away from God or from God’s will you will be discouraged, you will face failure. It is better to be where God placed you because that place is already a blessing!
4. Jesus Loves you: These disciples went away from God and His will, moreover they toiled all night yet failed to catch one fish. They were discouraged, failed, tired . . . they might probably remember the days they spent with Jesus. Everything they had in plenty, no worries, But Jesus came in search of them. The word of God says that Jesus came to seek and save that was lost Luke 19:10. When Adam and eve sinned against God they went and hid themselves from God but God came in search of them. Today you might be running away from God and as a result you might be facing failure, discouragement, hopeless situation . . . . But the good news is Jesus still has come in search of you because He loves you.
5. Did you recognize Jesus? There were few disciples but only one person could recognize Jesus and His voice. Everyone could see Him, everyone could hear Him but only one among them could recognize Him because of the fellowship/ relationship he had with Jesus. The word of God says in Isa 53:6: We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. The key to recognize the voice of Jesus is have a quality time with Him. The one Loved by God, one who loved God recognized Him. Today it is a challenge for us to fall in love with Him again like never before.
