Hi Dear Friend,
Greetings to you in Jesus name.
The day I gave my life to Jesus, my friends thought I was a fool; when I said “NO” to the pleasures the world had to offer me. There were people who said; Jeevan, This is not the age to be religious but to enjoy life, when you become 50+ then you have to think about God. As a young boy I had decided to say Yes to Jesus. Stopped smoking, taking alcohol, drugs, wrong friendships, my words and my life style started to change gradually. I started to go to church twice a day, spend whole day with my pastor and learn from the word of God.
I once read somewhere “A man is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot loose”.
Today I want to give you some benefits the Bible says, we would receive if we do not give up but overcome worldly things according to the book of Revelation. I want to make one more thing very clear that by your own strength and ability you cannot overcome worldly things, you need Jesus and His Holy Spirit to lead and guide you all your life.
This is what Jesus will give:
1. Rev 2:7 (b): I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in paradise of God.
One of the reasons why God banished Adam and Eve from the garden was that there was this tree of life. If they reach to that tree and eat its fruit they would have live forever with that sinful nature. Gen 3:22.
But God will give it to us who believe in Him. When God gives you a fruit from the tree of life, you will never die but live forever with our eternal creator!
2. Rev 2:10 (b): I will give you crown of life.
Our life here on earth is temporary. Trails and tests may come in this life time but hold on to God and His promises.
Jam 1:12: Blessed is the man who perseveres under trail, when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.
Jesus was crowned with glory and honor. Heb 2:9.
3. Rev 2:17: I will give some of the hidden manna.
We know that the Israelites ate manna in the wilderness when God brought them out of land of slavery and none of them entered the promise land except Joshua and Caleb. But Jesus will give some of hidden manna to them that overcomes.
Israelites ate that manna and died in the wilderness, but we will eat manna which the world has not tasted when we eat of it, we will be like angles forever.
Israelite ate on their way to promise land, but we eat when we arrive there. We will feast with Jesus.
4. Rev 2:26: I will give authority over the nations.
When Jesus comes for the second time, we the church will come with Him. We will rule the nations of the earth for 1000 years with Jesus. We are kings but Jesus is the King of kings.
When God created man, He created to rule and subdues everything He created, our position will be restored. What Adam lost, we got it at the cross of Jesus, and we will enjoy that authority to the fullness when Jesus give us that authority when we meet Him.
5. Rev 3:6: I will never blot out their names from the book of life but will acknowledge his name before my Father and His angles.
Our names written in the book of life is greater achievement. When you believe Jesus as your Lord and Savior your name is written in the book of life. Those whose names are written in the book of Life will be saved from Hell. Once the disciples of Jesus came to Him with the report of how the demons are submissive to them, Jesus said “rejoice not because demons are submissive to you but because your names are written in the book of life. Luke 10:20.
What a proud and blessed day it would be when Jesus acknowledge us before the Father in heaven and all the angles in heaven. That’s awesome and ultimate!!
6. Rev 3:12: I will make a pillar in the temple of my God and write on him the name of my God, name of the city of God, and will also write on Him my new name.
No matter how strong the foundation is, if the pillars are not strong enough, it can’t take the weight of the roof. The Bible says, God will make you a pillar in the temple of God. What a position to be in, great responsibility. You will be holding the magnificent and most beautiful construction whose builder is God.
You will also be the carrier of the Name of God and Jesus’ new name. Imagine your dream company you want to work; when you are working there you will feel privileged to carry the name of the company and every time to wear a tag of the company you will feel great. How much more great is the joy when you carry the name of God on your life? WOW!!!
7. Rev 3:21: I will give right to sit down on my throne.
I think in heaven you will see the throne of God where God the Father is seated and to His right hand there will be a throne of Jesus Christ and also 24 seats for 24 elders seated in front of the throne.
Now, where will you and I sit? The Bible says, we will sit with Jesus on His throne at the right side of the Father. Seeing the Father face to face, enjoying His glory and the presence of the Father. What else you will ask for?
The latter Glory is greater than the former glory. Those glorious days are ahead of us. The Bible says these benefits are for those who overcome and be faithful to God. Let us strive hard to live life that is pleasing to God. For God will reward us for everything we do here on earth.
Let’s not be driven by the temporary pleasures of the world which are here today and gone tomorrow but for which endures to eternity.
