Hi dear friend,

Greetings to you in Jesus name.

I met one of our relative sometime back and we started talking about God. I was sharing about what I believe and why I believe, so did he. I shared with him almost the full gospel and told him that Jesus is the only way to heaven and only way that keeps us away from the path of hell.

He shared few things that they believe that will give them Moksha. He said, we also believe that our knowledge of God will also save us from hell.

Today I would like to share few things on “Knowing God”.

I read somewhere that everyday nearly 22000 people Google to know who is God. This is really exciting thing that we live in the world where people want to know God. We live among people who will do anything in the name of God and religion.

The Bible says, you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. John 8:32. Free from hell, free from sickness, free from poverty, free from curses, free from peacelessness, free from all the worries and pain of the world. The Bible says in John 14:6 that Jesus is the Truth!

knowing God

Why you should know God?

1.       For your Satisfaction:

There are people who are not satisfied with what they are doing because they never understood what they are doing. You are a spirit being, created in the image of God and you have that vacuum inside of you, if you try to fill that vacuum with man made rules, rituals and traditions you will never be satisfied because only God can fill it not man or religion.

The problem is many around us are living in this situation! As you reading, Ask yourself are you satisfied with what you are doing? If not, it’s time for you to think and think properly.

If you don’t know who God is, you cannot love Him; you cannot worship Him the way He is to be worshipped; you will never be able to please Him and live up to His standards; follow Him with all your heart, soul, and strength and teach your children the same.

If you don’t know God you will do things just because of the sake of doing but never be satisfied! You will be like a blind person who thinks he is walking on the right way till he gets hurt or someone opens his eyes.

2.       God wants you to know Him:

God’s desire is that you should know Him.

Jer 9:23-24: This is what the Lord; “Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man of his strength or the rich man of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this; that he understands and knows me that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth for in theses I delight” declares the Lord.

As a father wants his children to know him and understand him, so God wants us his children to know the one by whom we are born and by one whom we are living. Imagine if your son or daughter don’t understand or know you and they go and call someone else as father and mother, how do you feel?

God is the one who created you, He is the one who gave you life, He is the one who is sustaining you, He is the one who is providing you everything you need, and He is the one behind all the success/blessings we are enjoying today. How sad it is that we forgot the one who gave all these to us!

Apostle Paul had a desire; He said I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection. . . Phil 3:10. To know who Paul was and his background read from verse 1-11 of Philippians chapter 3.

Do you want to know God?

3.      Results of knowing God

Though God was revealing Himself to mankind, we never understood Him, though sometimes we think we know Him.

God choose the people of Israelites, very few really understood Him; Jesus choose his disciples, none of them knew Him till He was taken up into glory; even today you think you know Him, you are worshiping Him, you love Him, you serve Him but deep down in your heart you still have the vacuum, vacuum of not knowing and understanding Him fully.

If you don’t know God, you will never understand Him; if you don’t understand Him, you can do nothing for Him.

Daniel 11:32: . . . . “The people who know their God shall be strong and carry our great exploits.

The only people who will be strong in the toughest of times are the people who know God and who has at least the glimpse of the power of God. They will never be shaken no matter what they are facing and where they are standing!!

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego knew that the God whom they serve was able to save and protect them from fiery furnace. Dan 3:16-18

Knowing God will make you strong!

4.       How to know God?

God wants you to know Him more than you want Him to know!

God revealed Himself to us primarily through the creation; when you see the creation you will understand what God is like. How beautiful, wonderful and magnificent is God. The power by which He creates and sustains all things.

God revealed Himself through the scriptures (The Bible); when you read the Bible, you will the know how much He loves us and what He has done for us and what He is doing and what He will do for us.

Finally God revealed to us in Jesus Christ; if you want to know God, see Jesus because He is God!! He is Holy, He is righteous, He is loving, He is compassionate, He is powerful . . . . . . . . . . and you can add to the list, He is all we need!

As you are reading this post, I pray that God will reveal Himself to you and you will know Him better than ever and after knowing you will walk in His ways.

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith–that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Eph 3:14-21 ESV

With much Love,
