Greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We are living in the world, where people judge each other so easily and so quickly without actually understanding them.
How do we judge someone whether they are good or bad?
I heard a man saying, if I sit with any person for 5 min I will know what kind of a person he is! As a men and women of God we can discern the person spiritually but not his mind, desires and wants but I think we can’t know a person completely to judge. If a man of God discerns, he discerns spirit(s) working in that person but not the person.
At very first meet we judge a person by what we have seen that person doing, saying or acting; which might not be his life style but had to do under compulsion. Sometimes we, who know the truth we too say, act and do under tough situations, not sin but a thing that hurt someone or give wrong impression but that’s not us actually!
I think we cannot understand a person fully or completely. A husband can never understand his wife nor can a wife understand her husband, parents and children are also the same, Jesus and the church are the same. At times all these relationships seems not going smoothly and peacefully but the truth is they all love each other unconditionally.
If someone is good and is in peace with us and helping us whenever we are in need, we declare them as good. If someone is not good with us or never agrees with us or have different mindset which is against us we declare that person as bad. The person who is good to you might not be good to someone and the person who is bad to you cannot be bad to everyone.
The Bible says that God is good. Ps 119:68(a). Jesus also said, there is no one good but God. The Bible also says that we are made in the image of God and His likeness, when He created man, “He said very good” meaning we are born and created with the goodness of God. Every time God looks down on us He sees us through His good and holy Son Jesus Christ. Now, the way we look at our brother and sister matters. If someone is good in God sight and you see and claim him bad, you are saying God your image is bad.
If someone does something which might hurt you, your society, himself and even God we decide and give him a title saying bad person and you see that person as bad for years, whereas that person repents and changes his ways and turn to God and God decides him good! Where will your opinion of that person go, what difference it would make to that person, instead you defile yourself by looking down on someone!
When God created us good, there are chances that we fall into bad company, to say always in good company you should be rooted and grounded in the source of goodness that is Jesus Christ Himself. When you live with Him and live in Him and allow God to live in you, though you fall and defile yourself, His goodness will over shadow you as you repent and when you depend on His goodness for your life, His blood will cleanse you and give you grace and power to overcome everything that is not for Him.
Before I conclude, take this to your heart that you are created in the goodness of the good God, see yourself and others the way good God sees, forgive and let bad flee from you, lean on His goodness for you and walk with the good God.
Stop judging others based on their performances, and love them because they are created by God and it’s a command to love everyone no matter who they are. If you are not comfortable with someone be away from that person but don’t hate or judge. If you find any good in a person take it no matter who they are and ignore bad!
Have a good life with good God, everything you touch let the good God touch it and bring out good from you for His glory.
