Hello Dear Friend,

Greetings to you in Jesus name.

I am glad to bring the word God placed on my heart concerning the church.

We all want to see our church to grow in quality and quantity like the early church.

The early church was rooted and grounded on the promises of God and in the power of the Holy Spirit. If we want our church to be like the early church, we should do what the early church did.

How was the early church?

Today I would like to share with you 4 pillars of the healthy church from the book of Acts 2: 42:

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teachings and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

The word devoted is to give all or a large part of someone’s time or resources to a person, activity or cause.

The early church gave themselves to God. We talk about the tithes which is 10% of everything we have but the early church all that they had gave to God; their wealth, their time, their energy and so on.  In other words God was their #1 priority!

It’s a challenge for us now as a church in 21st Century, can we make God our #1 priority, and become crazy lovers and followers of Jesus.

They devoted themselves to 4 things

1. To the apostles teaching:

They were listening to God’s word every day. Bible also says, Faith comes by hearing and hearing God’s word. Rom 10:17. The more you hear God’s word, you faith in God increases more, hence there is no room for doubts and unbelief.

 2. To fellowship:

Fellowship is greater than just a casual meeting. Fellowship is coming together in agreement and pursue the purpose that the apostles taught.

The enemy cannot prevail where there is unity. The anointing of God is poured whenever the church comes in unity. The Bible says, How good and pleasant when brother dwell together in unity. Ps 133: 1-3.

 3. To breaking of bread:

In our churches we break bread once a week or in some churches once a month. Jesus said, I am the bread of life. John 6:35. Jesus commanded His disciples to do in remembrance of Him. Luke 22:19

Every time they came together they broke the bread, meaning they remember Jesus everyday whenever they met and did what the Lord had told them to do.

 4. To prayer:

The early church was a praying church. They would pray and the place would shake Acts 4:31, prayed and peter is brought out of the prison supernaturally Acts 12:5-10.

The enemy will try his best to stop you from praying, because he know when we pray God will move on our behalf, when we don’t pray we limit God. Prayer is the answer of every question and the solution for every problem.

The early church was a devoted church to the teaching to the apostles, to fellowship, to breaking of bread and to prayer.

Their ears were filled with God’s word, they were present where God would manifest Himself, thinking of God and talking to God. Their body and soul was yielded to God, therefore God would send His spirit to fill their spirits.

If we can devote our body and mind to God, we will experience revival fire, in no time that will spread to the people around us to the town/city we are in and to our nation and to the ends of the earth.

I pray that we will bring forth supernatural things for the glory of God in this Christmas and New Year season. 2015 is indeed a year of supernatural birthing’s, let’s be conceived by the Holy Spirit.

God bless you,

Jeevan n Leena.
