Hello dear friend,
I am so glad and excited to write to you the things that Lord has laid on my heart.
I have come across so many young people and one of the things that really bothers them is marriage. They seem to be very confused, because some of them are in a relationship and don’t know whether that’s a right relationship or no, others are scared of getting into a relationship because of the problems they have seen and heard of others, few others have seen some marriage break and they don’t want to get into one and end themselves broken.
The Bible says, Marriage is honorable in all. Heb 13:4
The Bible starts with a marriage in the Garden of Eden (In Genesis) and end up with a marriage of the Lamb of God (In Revelation), in between everything is a preparation.
Today I would like to share few things that you should keep in mind before you say yes to a relationship, if you are already in a relationship (haven’t got married), pause, and think. May the Holy Spirit speak to you and lead you.
- God has set a time for your marriage:
First and the most important thing that you should know is that His timing is the best and perfect. God has a timing for everything in life. Ecc 3. 1-8.
You don’t want to receive the perfect blessing of God in a wrong time.
If you do, the same blessing can become a curse for you.
Trust God and His timing over your life.
2. Don’t push God:
When you learn that God has a timing, you wait patiently. Waiting on God shows that you trust Him against all odds.
Waiting sometimes can be very crucial especially when you are being forced by the family, situations and taunted by everyone around you. Waiting can also be a time of preparation if you know how to handle those still moments in life.
- Prepare for marriage:
Waiting to get married is good but preparing to get married is better. The best way to prepare yourself is by sitting at the feet of Jesus and spending time with Him in prayer.
How sad it is, when God bless you with a life partner, you don’t know how to handle or take care of that precious person.
Prayer is the place where you prepare yourself to receive your soul mate with reverence and the fear of God.
- Be specific:
The only person to whom you can share your heart with and trust that He won’t judge you or take your desires as rubbish. He values your desires and He loves to fulfill them way beyond you have asked for, because He loves you.
Tell God what kind of a person you want to live your rest of your life with. Including physical appearances, work, spiritual maturity, income……. Anything that’s on your heart.
- You will know your soul mate:
When you have prepared yourself in prayer and asked God for a kind of person, when God brings that person your way, you will recognize your soul mate.
You no need to go around searching for the kind of person you want to marry in every possible place, God will prepare you both behind screen and when you both face each other, and you know and understand.
- God will confirm:
Once when you have found your soul mate, don’t be in hurry to get things straight then and there. You both take the same to God in prayer.
Let God confirm it to you through your pastors/mentors and parents at both ends, then you will have a peaceful and purposeful marriage.
- Guard yourself until marriage:
How many of you want to marry a person who has already been in a relationship with someone? I think no one will!
Your soul mate on the other hand also might be waiting to marry someone who has not been in any relationship of any kind, then why don’t you be in one.
From the time you know that you want to marry until you get married stay away from being in ungodly, unhealthy relationships.
Stay Pure, give yourself as a precious and holy gift to your soul mate.
If you have been in a relationship that is not from God I want you to decide, and if you have committed any sin while being in relationship, I want you to repent and ask God to forgive you.
Marriage is honorable in all, therefore you honor your marriage too and value it above everything in your life.
God bless you,
In His service,
Jeevan & Leena
