Hello dear friend,
Greetings to you in Jesus name.
We are living in a world where everyone everywhere are trying to please people. Employees trying to please their employer, students trying to please their teacher, congregation is trying to please their pastor (spiritual leader), children are trying to please their parents…..
Not everyone is pleasing because they have genuine love and respect for them, but out of fear and to find favour in their eyes to see their work done.
You might have read and heard ‘don’t try to please man (any human) but only God.’
There are people who do everything possible to please God so that their prayers might be answered and God might bless them. Their motives to please God is selfish.
I am not saying expecting God to bless us is wrong, in fact if God won’t bless you, who else will? I am just trying to help you know your motives behind pleasing God.
When you please God just to get something from Him, and when you don’t get it, you will turn your back on Him. But if you really love and respect Him with all your heart, mind and strength; you will pursue to please Him even when He doesn’t answer all your prayers.
When pleasing God becomes your lifestyle, favour will become your inheritance. Not just a favour in God’s eyes but also with the people everywhere God has placed you.
The Bible says, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Esther, Daniel, Nehemiah…. were all in the foreign land but were favoured by God therefore God blessed them wherever they were.
I don’t know where you are, what kind of people you are surrounded with, but when you find favour in God’s eyes, the land you are living in will serve you, people around will treat you well, blessing and opportunities will come in search of you, you will be a friend to kings and rulers….. Amen
David, the king of Israel prayed, May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to You, Oh Lord my Rock and Redeemer. Psalms 19:14 NLT
There is a blessing in pleasing God.
I am reminded of a verse from the book of Ecclesiastes 2:26: God gives wisdom, knowledge and joy to those who please Him. But if sinner becomes wealthy, God takes the wealth away and gives it to those who please Him.
- God will give you wisdom.
- God will give you knowledge.
- God will give you joy.
- God will give you wealth.
- What is to please God?
Pleasing God is thinking and doing thing that makes Him happy and satisfied.
- How to please God?
When you live to celebrate the Holy Spirit who is with you and be faithful to what everything (Family, relationship, job, church, gifts…) He gave you.
- When to please God?
Always, in everything you are and in everything you do!
if you love God, its easy to please Him, just have a desire and rededicate your life to please Him. God will help you to please Him!
