Hello dear friend,

Greetings to you in Jesus name.

I hope you all is well with you in every area of your life. I pray and wish may God continue to protect you from all the plans and schemes of the enemy, and also provide all your needs according to His riches in glory in Jesus Christ our Lord.

We all know that prayer is one of the greatest privilege that we have as a child of God. Prayer is communicating with the Creator of the universe, and it is a blessing to share our heart with God who is more than willing to listen to us and answer us.

It is God’s will for us to grow in our relationship with Him, and one of the way we grow in through prayer. Today I would like to share how to pray?

Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints. Ephesians 6:18

We learn 5 things from this verse;

  1. PRAY IN THE SPIRIT: what does it mean to pray in the Spirit?

For many Pentecostal and Charismatic, it is to speak in tongues. They might be right.

Praying in the spirit also means to pray according to the will of God. We know praying is God’s will, and it is impossible for us to pray without the leading of the Holy Spirit, but it is important that we are led by the Holy Spirit even in our prayer time.

Many people don’t enjoy their prayer time is because they pray what they know, what they need. We need to be led by God the Spirit to enjoy prayer time and to experience the manifestation of the will of God.

2. PRAY AT ALL TIMES:

Many people only pray when they are in need of something from God. Prayer is not only going to God when you want Him to do something for you, prayer is communicating with the King of universe.

God has blessed us with a privilege of sharing our heart with Him. He is more than willing to listen to us, than we are willing to share with Him. Many people only share the cute and good side of their lives not fully knowing that God is fully aware of our lives much more that we know and we could ever know.

As children of God we should not only have our personal prayer time, but we should also have a life of prayer where you are mindful of Him and communicating with God in your Spirit, mind, and with your words also.

3. PRAY WITH EVERY PRAYER:

What are the different kinds of prayer? What should your prayer consist of?

Many people have a same repetitious prayer, there is nothing wrong to ask God for the same thing again and again, everyday; but that cannot be all your prayer.

Your prayer should include ADORATION (praises and worship to God), CONFESSION (humility and repentance), THANKSGIVING (grateful to God for what He has done), and SUPPLICATIONS (what you need).

4. PRAY WITH PERSISTANCE:

When you have been praying and believing in God for a certain breakthrough, and if God delays in answering, it is possible for you to be tired, frustrated, and also tempted to give up on your prayers.

You don’t know how close you are to your breakthrough, if you continue to put your faith in action by praying, you will position yourself to receive your miracle anytime.

5. PRAY FOR EVERYONE:

Prayer can be selfish at times. You would love to pray, pray persistently, pray earnestly, and pray passionately for yourself and if you have to pray for others you can be slight lethargic.

Paul is writing a letter to the church in Ephesians and he is asking the church to pray for all the saints and for himself too. You need to pray for others also; for your marriage, for your family, for your job/work, for your church, and pray for everyone and everything that is connected to you.

When you pray for others, God will hear your prayers and answer them.

May God give you grace to have a prayer revival, and as you dedicate yourself to prayer, may God encounter you and bless you and make you a blessing to others in Jesus might name I pray. Amen

With much love and blessings,
