Hello dear friend,
Greetings to you in Jesus name.
Hope you are doing well in the grace and mercies of God, I pray May God continue to protect you and provide you all your needs according to His riches in glory in Jesus Christ our Lord.
What is baptism?
The word baptism comes from a Greek word baptizo which means immerse. There are people who follow different kinds of baptism and the biblical one is to be fully immersed. Jesus was also fully immersed in the water.
Today we are not talking about water baptism but the baptism in the Holy Spirit. One of the first things John the Baptist told about Lord Jesus is, “I will baptize you with water, but He (Jesus) will baptize you in the Holy Spirit”.
When Jesus came up out of the water after baptism, the bible says;
- Heavens were opened
- The Spirit came on and rested on Him like the dove
- And the Father said, You are My beloved Son.
The heavens that were opened at Jesus’ baptism remains open even today, therefore we have a direct access to the heavenly realms and to the throne room of God, through prayers.
How to be baptized in the Holy Spirit?
- Understand that Jesus is the baptizer of the Holy spirit:
First and the most important thing you should know that Jesus is the One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit. There are so many people who do so many things and go to so many places to receive the baptism. No matter where you are and what you do, remember Jesus is the only baptizer.
The resource might be different, it could be in any meeting, through any man/woman of God, but the source is Jesus Christ our Lord.
2. Desire to be immersed in the Holy Spirit:
Knowledge is good, and it can be very powerful; but if your knowledge is not leading you closer to God than your knowledge has not transformed your life.
When you know and understand Who can baptize you in the Spirit, it is up to you what you do with this information. If you can capitalize on this information and desire for the immersion in the Holy Spirit, you are on your way to encounter God in a very unusual way.
You need to passionately desire for the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
3. Go to Lord Jesus:
Sometimes it possible for you to have a right information and right desire, and end up in a wrong place.
You need to pursue Jesus. It could be through your prayers, fasting, meditation of the scripture, and waiting on the Lord. You need to wait of Him.
Sometime God might test your patience by delaying to give you what you have desired, you need to patiently wait on Him, in His presence without giving up. “Waiting sometimes means preparation”.
4. Ask:
The Bible says, you have not because you ask not. And Bible also says whatever you ask according to God’s will, you can be sure that He will give it to you.
You need to ask daily, sometimes more than once. You need to keep asking until you get what you have asked for. Sometime people get tired on unanswered prayers, I want to tell you, “It is not about how many times you have prayed, what matters is did you get what you asked for?”
Ask and keep on asking, God will surprisingly answer you by giving what you have been waiting for.
Remember: Our precious Lord Jesus loves to baptize you in the Holy Spirit much more than you want to be baptized.
I pray, may you have a fresh appetite to be filled in the Holy Spirit, and as you passionately desire, and go to God, and continue to ask Him, may you be immersed in the Holy Spirit. And may God also use you to be a blessing to your family, your church, and to everyone who is connected to you in Jesus mighty name. Amen
With much love and blessings,
