Hello dear friend,
Greetings to you in Jesus name. I hope you are doing well in the grace and mercies of God. I pray, may God protect you from all evil and danger and provide all your needs in Jesus name. Amen
Who was Judas, and why did He betray Jesus?
- Judas was a disciple of Jesus:
The bible says, Jesus prayed all night and when the morning came He chose the disciples. All the 12 disciples of Jesus were handpicked by Him.
Judas was a part of the great mission of the Lord on earth, he was sent by Jesus to preach, cast out demons, heal the sick, and to build the Kingdom of God like other disciples.
Jesus knew everyone much better than they knew themselves. He knew who is what, and He knew their potentials, and He also knew what their future would be.
Jesus knew from the beginning that Judas would betray Him, that’s why He said at the last supper “one of you will betray me”. Mark 14:17
Remember that you have been chosen by God for a greater purpose, firmly hold on to it.
2. Judas had a weakness:
We understood from the above point that Judas was chosen by Jesus to be a world changer along with other disciples, but Judas had a weakness.
All the disciples had a weakness that’s why they ran for their lives when Jesus was arrested, but Judas when he betrayed Jesus he did not repent but found himself guilty therefore he went and hung himself.
Judas had two other weaknesses; he was a thief, he was helping himself for the money that was put in the treasury. And he was not the great worshipper of Jesus, when a woman came and worshiped Jesus with a bottle of very expensive perfume Judas felt annoyed and was criticizing the woman. John 12:4-6
You too might have a weakness, in your weakness seek to glorify Jesus with your words and actions.
3. Judas had an open door for the enemy:
Our enemy the devil is the crafty and cunning person on the planet. Judas’ weakness opened a door for the enemy to come into him and possess him, and killed him. John 13:27
Invite Lord Jesus into your weakness, and ask the Holy Spirit to help you to please the Father always and to do His will, as you do this consistently very soon you will realize that you are not a slave to your weakness, because with the strength of the Lord you have overcome it.
Dear friend, I encourage you to surrender every area of your life to Jesus, and take up your cross daily and follow Him, and be led by the Holy Spirit in everything you do.
I pray, as you do may the light of God shine over your life so bright that people around you will be attracted to this glorious light and they be the carriers of the light to the world around them in Jesus name. Amen
With much love and blessings,
