Hello dear friend,

Greetings to you in Jesus name. I hope you are doing well in the grace and mercies of God, I pray may God continue to protect you from all the attacks of the enemy and also provide you all your needs in Jesus mighty name. Amen

Worship is one of the most important part of a Christian’s life.

Worship is not just about singing songs, but a lifestyle we live to honor God all day – every day and in everything we do and say, for the glory of God.

There is a passage in the Bible where we see a woman worshipped Jesus selflessly, shamelessly, and lavishly, which prepared Him to complete His final assignment here on earth by dying on the cross and to come back to life, please take time to read Mark 14:3-11.

Here are few things that we learn from this passage about worship;

  1. Worship is showing gratitude:

The main characters in this passage are Jesus, Simon and Mary.

Who is this Simon?

Simon – the leper, was the same person whom Jesus healed of leprosy. Leprosy was considered as curse and people with leprosy were cast outside the camp away from there family and friends. When Jesus healed him, he was restored of his life and position in the family and community.

He was so grateful to God that he invited Jesus to his house.

Who is Mary?

Some people debate Mary is the same person whom Jesus set free from the oppression of demons and also delivered. Therefore when she knew that Jesus was in town, she brought a very expensive perfume which she had saved for years and pour at Jesus feet and began to worship Him.

Worship is showing gratitude to God for His goodness and grace in our life.

Are you grateful to God for the things He has done in your life, in your family, at your work place, and in every area of your life?

2. Worship is expensive:

Being thankful in words is easy and will cost nothing. But if you have to worship God with a substance then it can be expensive.

Nothing is more important and expensive than life. Jesus saved their lives from a terrible situation, and whoever they were and whatever life they were living was a gift from God. Therefore they worshipped God however best they could.

Dear friend, today you are alive and well, you know it is just because of the Lord Jesus Christ. Now, tell me how are you worshipping God? Is your worship to God is only words or are you worshipping God with the best of what you have?

God deserves the best, don’t insult Him by giving Him second love and with the cheap things. The God we love, worship, and serve is a King of all the universe.

Unless your worship to God is not above the standard of human mind than you haven’t worshipped God better. Your worship should make people think you are crazy. (King David and Mary were mocked because of their worship to God, what about your worship?)

3. Worship pleases God:

Jesus was so pleased by the worship of Mary that He had to defend her from every insulting words for her act of worship.

Jesus said, “Leave her alone, she has done a beautiful thing”. I guess there were many people in the room but Jesus was not pleased with anyone more than He was pleased with Mary.

Are you a God pleaser or man pleaser? If you are a God pleaser than you would do anything despite of what people think about you, but if you are a people pleaser then you would always do things that people like and appreciate.

Remember, God did not think about anything when He had to save us, even to the point that he hung naked on the cross, took all those bruises on His body, took all those insults of people, because He was thinking of you and me. He valued us more than the pain He went through.

Now it is our turn to worship God for everything He has done to us, for us, and through us.

I pray, may God give us grace to love and worship Him with highest gratitude and extravagant gifts, as you do may God be so pleased with you that He will testify about you in the heaven to His angels and everyone on earth, in Jesus name. Amen

With much love and blessings,
